"Tourism Talk" Member's Promotion Opportunity

In partnership with the Tablelander and Advertiser newspapers, TTT members are invited to be showcased as part of our “Tourism Talk” monthly initiative.

One member per month will receive the exposure of their property by providing a Call to Action to prompt readers to take action. We are looking for prize values of $100 or greater and in return you will be published in the newspaper with either two photos or one photo and logo. Ideal giveaways that may be considered would be dining vouchers, accommodation, entry to your attraction.

Expressions of interest for next edition of “Tourism Talk”
must be received no later than 15th June 2016.

Accepted offers will be advised by email and the voucher is required to be sent to the TTT office prior to publication.

 

Consumer Newsletter

The next consumer newsletter is currently being collated and will be distributed in a couple of weeks to our growing subscribers list (potential visitors).

Small Business Support

Gulf Savannah Development Inc. (GSD), in partnership with Savannah Way Ltd and Tropical Tablelands Tourism, is pleased to advise that our Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS-NATI) Programme currently has six streams under the Gulf Savannah and Tropical Tablelands Tourism Small Business Advisory Service, Qld initiative. This programme is available to tourism small business operators and intenders in the shires of Burke, Carpentaria, Croydon, Doomadgee, Etheridge, Mornington, Mareeba and Tablelands.

The ASBAS-NATI Programme will deliver one-on-one consultancy services to eligible clients and training sessions across the six tourism streams. Within each of these streams, there are a number of eligible activities. 

 

2016 Stay Upright Supermoto Australian Championships

Over 100 riders and 2000 spectators are expected to attend the 2016 Stay Upright Supermoto Australian Championships to be held at the Makotrac International Racetrack on Springs Road Mareeba on the 29th to 31st July, 2016.

FNQ Road Racing Club are co-ordinating this event and are keen to promote our region to riders and their families. 

Give-a-way packs are currently being organised by the Club. Members interested to showcase their product and provide vouchers or give-a-ways are asked to please drop these to either Mareeba Information Centre or Atherton Visitor Information Centre which will be collected by the Club.

Julatten, A Bird Watchers Paradise

Julatten is renowned amongst bird-watchers worldwide and in particular for Mt Lewis National Park where all 13 Wet Tropics endemic bird species can be found. Taking Mt Molloy township as a central point just over 300 bird species including all 13 Wet Tropics endemics have been recorded within a 15km radius of the town. No other region in Australia can boast this, not even Kakadu!

Birding hot spots in this area include Abattoir Swamp, McDougal Road, Wetherby Road and Sweetwater Lodge - a 160 acre property in Julatten and has 4 major birding habitats on the property including rainforest, woodland, riparian and grassland together with retired fruit orchards.
