The Reading Hour 2015

Celebrate the Reading Hour with us in 2015!

Driven by Australian libraries, The Reading Hour raises the status and visibility of reading and literacy nationwide, promotes the benefits of reading and storytelling as critical life skills and catalysts for well-being, and unifies the national literacy network working toward Australia becoming a nation of readers.

Any time is reading time!

The Reading Hour is nominally 6pm to 7pm on Tuesday 18 August,
but events will be happening all day—and all year round.

You can organise your own events any time and use our logo and events calendar to help promote them. Supporting literacy and reading can be as easy as loading the Reading Hour logo onto your website or blog, or talking about the program in interviews and with your networks.

Are you hosting a reading-related event in 2015? You can get started by adding your events to our calendar by completing the 'Submit your event' form online and stay tuned for free Reading Hour promotional materials coming soon!

We would like to extend warmest thanks to our family of partners, inspiring librarians, ambassadors and friends, teachers, children and the wider community for championing reading and supporting the Reading Hour since the National Year of Reading in 2012. We would especially like to acknowledge and thank The Copyright Agency Cultural Fund for their invaluable support.

Stay posted for news updates, ambassador announcements and share the inspiration with our community on Facebook. We look forward to counting down together for the Reading Hour again in 2015!
