Water, Water, Anywhere

In Boise, the proper way to practice social distancing is “float over there.” When summer temps climb in August, Boise’s water access shines. From the Boise River running right through downtown to the Payette River just a short drive away, you’re never far away from a splashing good time. Join the tubers on the daily float down the Boise River starting at Barber Park and let the cool water do the rest. Hop out at Ann Morrison Park, one of the “string of pearls,” a set of parks in Boise named for female notables. Like Esther Simplot Park, which features a string of ponds and is adjacent to the Boise River’s Whitewater Park. Watch surfers and kayakers practice their moves in a specially-created hydraulic wave feature. Looking for more adventure? Take the short drive to Banks, Idaho, headquarters for whitewater rafting outfitters. Check it out here.

Room to Roam

There’s a new way to talk about Boise: We call it “Room to Roam,” and it’s our way of saying to visitors who are looking for a break from busy, crowded cities and the health concerns that go along with them that they can seek open space in abundance here in Boise. From the restaurants that are using creative seating techniques (and a bit of extra patio space, thanks to some strategic street closures) to the attractions and meeting venues, Boise is all about making space for you and your fellow visitors. Check out our landing page here at www.boise.org/room-to-roam, or take a gander at our new greeting videos on YouTube.
