Click here DISCOVER THE TREASURES OF THE NSW CENTRAL WESTYou'll feel immersed in the age-old craft of truffle hunting in a new highlights reel, released this week, designed to capture the unique wonders of the NSW Central West. The NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW has produced the new collection of images and videos to highlight the rich diversity of experiences on offer in Orange, as well as Carcoar, Canowindra and Molong. The annual Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt features at the core of the content package, where guests dress-up and head out searching for truffles before retiring to the underground wine cellar for a five-course truffle degustation dinner. Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said it is important to showcase the unique experiences on offer right across NSW. “Tourism is fundamental to rural and regional NSW, contributing $19.5 billion to the NSW economy and directly employing more than 90,000 people,” Mr Ayres said. “The NSW Government is determined to support these communities and ensure every corner of NSW gets its fair share of the record tourist dollars and investment coming into our State. “Content packages like this one are a valuable way of highlighting just how much there is to explore within the State’s own backyard. If you hop in a car from Sydney, you can experience an entirely new place within a matter of hours.” Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase said the new content package would make anyone feel compelled to escape to the NSW Central West. “This is the perfect time to plan a weekend getaway to Orange and its surrounding townships, which really thrive in Winter,” Ms Chipchase said. “This part of NSW has so much to offer from fresh local produce and aromatic wines, one-of-a-kind boutiques and quaint cafes, vibrant town centres and rolling green vistas. I encourage everyone to book in their trip to the NSW Central West.” View and download the full suite of images and videos in the Destination NSW Content Library. T20 TICKET VALUE HITS AUSSIE SPORTS FANS FOR SIX!Cricket’s T20 World Cup will put families closer to the action next year, with the Men’s tournament ticket prices released this week Minister for Sport John Sidoti said children’s tickets for all of Sydney’s Men’s Super 12 matches are just $5 each. A family of two adults and two children can attend any Women’s match for just $50. “It’s great to see that ticket prices for both the women’s and men’s competitions are family-friendly. With ticket prices this competitive, I am sure we’ll see packed stadiums,” Mr Sidoti said. “After watching the recent One Day World Cup in England from afar, I can’t wait to have the world’s best cricketers in our own backyard next year. Kids will be cheering on their heroes and being inspired to become the next generation of superstars.” NSW will host the Women’s opening match between Australia and India plus three double-headers including both semi-finals, providing plenty of opportunities for families to watch cricket’s best in action. Six Men’s games and a semi-final will be played in NSW later in the year. Women’s tickets are on sale now and fans are encouraged to register for early access to Men’s tickets before they go on public sale in October. Travel and tour packages are now on sale. Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said almost 40,000 interstate and international visitors are expected to travel to NSW for the 14 matches hosted in Sydney, generating an estimated $46 million in visitor expenditure. “Major events like the T20 World Cup play a crucial role in helping to drive more visitors to NSW, which ultimately help the NSW Government work towards its goal of tripling overnight visitor expenditure by 2030,” Mr Ayres said. “We know that tourism is one of the biggest drivers for the NSW economy and coupled with world-class events, such as the T20 World Cup, it’s no wonder why we continue to dominate as Australia’s number one tourism state.” The Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 will be held from 21 February – 8 March 2020 with matches at the SCG and Sydney Showground. The Men’s T20 World Cup will be held from 18 October – 15 November 2020 with all the NSW action at the SCG. Minister for Sport John Sidoti said more than 50,000 fans are expected to attend Bankwest Stadium for the world-first event. “NSW is the proud home of rugby league in Australia, and the World Cup 9s will reinforce why teams and spectators love our State to host these big games,” Mr Sidoti said. Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said the inaugural Downer Rugby League World Cup 9s tournament is a blockbuster, high-energy event for teams and spectators. “Western Sydney will come alive when great rugby league nations including England, Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia take to Bankwest Stadium.
