Hi there!

The start of 2014 has been very busy for everyone. Despite the terrible weather - things are starting to look up and the promise of a hot summer puts a spring in our step!

Talking of steps, you can read more about Step into Dance's new Young Ambassador programme, the Social Media debate which was hosted by the Media Trust and our cartoon competition winner!

Lastly, don't forget to submit your application for the Small Grant Fund and Face the Challenge. Click on the links on the left hand side for more information. Both programmes close on Monday 31st March- so get your skates on!

Social or unsocial media?

The Panel

The Jack Petchey Foundation teamed up with Media Trust and London Live in February to hold a panel debate at ITV’s Southbank Studios. Young people were given the chance to discuss the role social media plays in their lives, with input from industry experts including ITV News reader Charlene White, who chaired the event, musician Delilah, and BAFTA winning actor Adam Deacon.

Future First Partnership Continues....

The Jack Petchey Foundation and Future First have been working together to offer the opportunity for schools and colleges to keep in touch with their former students.

Donna Mason, Head of Carers at Roding Valley High School says: ‘The support from Future First has been a fantastic way for me to stay in touch with our former students. They send out regular emails and information to our alumni, keeping them in touch with events that are happening in the school'.

They are only 14 places left for Jack Petchey Scheme schools! To find out more and snap up a year’s membership for £250, please contact Megan Clatworthy at megan@futurefirst.org.uk
