Next generation $5 banknote released into the wild
Have you seen Australia’s newest banknote? The $5 note entered circulation on 1 September 2016. What’s new about it? Apart from the new Australian themed design (featuring a flying Eastern Spinebill) it has a range of security features that will help keep our banknotes secure against counterfeiting. It is the first in a new series and other denominations will be upgraded over the coming years.
