Helping to enhance the safety of Juno Beach ![]() January 1, 2025 - Volume 8 Number 1 Welcoming 2025 with Commitment and Purpose As we welcome 2025, the Juno Beach Police Foundation extends warm wishes for a Happy New Year to all our supporters and the entire Juno Beach community. We are grateful for your continued partnership and look forward to another year of working together to enhance the safety and well-being of our town. A New Year, A Renewed Dedication to Juno Beach Safety As we move into the new year, the Juno Beach Police Foundation proudly highlights a major enhancement to the Police Department's outdoor training range. Thanks to the generosity of the Ferreira family, dedicated Juno Beach residents and steadfast advocates for law enforcement, a donation exceeding $10,000 enabled the installation of power and advanced lighting. Completed in December, this project significantly improves the range's functionality by allowing officers to train at night under realistic conditions such as twilight, full darkness, and moonlit skies. Police Chief Brian Smith, Assistant Chief Mark Saloio, and Foundation President Tom Murphy worked closely to ensure the project met the department's needs and was within budget. Chief Smith expressed gratitude to the Ferreira family, emphasizing the direct and lasting impact their support has on officer training and public safety. The Foundation also recognizes the continued generosity of all our donors whose contributions make vital projects like this possible. In addition to annual and ongoing donations, we have been fortunate to receive several significant gifts this year, enabling us to address critical needs and plan for the future. These extraordinary contributions, combined with the steadfast support of our community, underscore the powerful partnership between Juno Beach residents and law enforcement, fostering a safer environment for all. We want to remind our supporters that the Juno Beach Police Foundation Annual Campaign for 2024-2025 is underway, providing a vital opportunity to contribute to future projects and needs of the Police Department. Welcome Officer Todd Ostuni
The Juno Beach Police Department recently welcomed Officer Todd Ostuni to the team! With 28 impressive years as a full-time deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, where he retired as a Sergeant in 2023, Todd's extensive experience and skills shone during the hiring process, making him a perfect addition to the department. Before his law enforcement career, Todd proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to service and excellence. He now calls Jupiter home, where he lives with his wife, Beth, and their son, Tyler. The Juno Beach Police Foundation is delighted to see Officer Ostuni joining the Police Department family. We’re confident that his experience and dedication will have a positive impact on the community we all cherish. Be sure to give Todd a warm Juno Beach welcome when you see him out and about! Upcoming Coffee With A Cop Dates Coffee With A Cop is a monthly tradition, held on the first Wednesday of each month, offering residents the chance to engage with local police Officers and foster a sense of community. All residents, businesses, and friends of Juno Beach are encouraged to attend. Join us for a morning of great conversation, an update from the Chief of Police, and freshly brewed coffee. Your participation strengthens our community and enhances public safety. The Juno Beach Police Foundation has sponsored this event since 2018, and we look forward to continuing the tradition. Be sure to mark your calendars and join us for upcoming events to stay connected and involved in our community's safety initiatives. Seasonal Reminders for a Safe and Enjoyable Winter As we welcome the new year and the influx of seasonal residents escaping the chilly northern winters, the Town of Juno Beach comes alive with activity. With our population nearly doubling during this time, it's an ideal moment to focus on safety and community awareness.
Traffic Safety
The increase in vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists on our streets means extra caution is essential. Please adhere to speed limits, stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, and share the road responsibly with cyclists. Emergency Preparedness Seasonal residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with local emergency procedures and contacts. Take a moment to update your phone information with the Town, Police and Fire and sign up for alerts to stay informed about any potential hazards or emergencies. Home Security For those staying only part-time, remember to secure your homes before heading back north. Install timers for lights, inform neighbors of your plans, and ensure alarm systems are functioning properly. Year-round residents can assist by keeping an eye out for anything unusual in the neighborhood. Respecting Our Beaches
Our beautiful beaches are one of the reasons so many love Juno Beach. Please remember to keep them clean, adhere to local ordinances, and respect wildlife, especially nesting sea turtles. Together, we can make this season safe and enjoyable for everyone. The Juno Beach Police Foundation is here to support you, and we appreciate your commitment to keeping our community vibrant and secure.
