CHS: Inspiring girls to discover and pursue their personal exellence.

Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year

It was exciting to see staff back on campus this week getting ready for the start of term. I know I speak for all of them when I say that we are really looking forward to welcoming back students on campus next week. We have missed their presence, their laughter, their curiosity, their energy.

I hope that you will have had time to review our Return to School Plan and our Exposure Control Plan, and that both documents have reassured you about the measures that the School has put in place to minimize the risks to our community. Please remember that we will be holding information evenings for parents on September 11 and 14, 2020.

Last month, we were delighted to welcome last month Michelle Douglas and Wendy Macken as our new Directors of Senior and Junior School respectively. You will find a short welcome back video message from each of them in this newsletter.

As we go into the long weekend, I would like to remind our community of the need to continue to act responsibly to protect the most vulnerable amongst us. We look forward to seeing your daughters on campus next week!

I wish you a safe and happy weekend.

Welcome Back to School

Return to Campus Plans

The Stage 2 Return to Campus Plan and Exposure Control Plan were approved by the Ministry of Education earlier this week and can be found on the Return to Campus page under "My CHS". The Return to Campus Plan outlines the health and safety, operational arrangements and expectations for parents, students and the School, we ask that you review these in preparation for your daughter’s return to school.

Student Information Forms

It is essential that you complete the Student Information Forms in order for your daughter to attend class. Log into the MySchool Parent Portal and click on "Forms" in the left-hand sidebar to access forms.

Back-to-School Resources

The Back-to-School Resources are grouped into information for the Whole School, Junior School and Senior School. All families should review the Whole School information before moving to the specific information related to your daughter’s school. Resources include drop-off and pick-up routines for Junior School and Senior School, orientation and welcome event information, Outdoor Education forms (Grade 8–10), and all the essential resources you need to start the year. Bookmark this page as you will want to return to it often.

Self-Assessment Reminder

Self-assessment will be an integral part of protecting the health of others and must be performed every day before coming to campus. Students, parents and staff should practice self-assessment and commit it to daily habit. Please note: the School will send daily weekday text messages to the community from Wednesday, September 9 to Friday, September 18 at 8:00 am to build a routine of self-assessment.

Receiving Crofton House School Emails

Crofton House School communicates important information such as special alerts, school closures, student reports, event invitations, and community news by email. At the beginning of the year, all parents are added to the communication list. Should you choose to unsubscribe, please be advised that you will miss important messages from the School and the opportunity to stay connected to the CHS community.

Download the Community Dining App

SAGE Dining, our Community Dining partner, has been hard at work preparing for the start of the school year. Please see their welcome letter. The "Touch of SAGE" app is available for download on your mobile device. View daily menus and ingredients, create a custom allergen profile, plan meals, and provide feedback — all in one place.
