What's Happening This Week

Assume or Verify?

Is the retail agent who is bringing business to you or the new agent you just hired properly licensed?

Probably...but are you sure?

Is assuming worth the risk? You could be charged with aiding and abetting an unlicensed individual.

Rather than assume they are licensed, check the Department of Financial Services (DFS) website to be sure. It's a quick and easy way to verify.

NAIC Summer Meeting

Earlier this week the National Association of Insurance Commissioners held their summer meeting in Boston, MA. Commissioners from around the country came together to discuss all things insurance.

The Surplus Lines Task Force met on Saturday when they discussed the financial status of the surplus lines marketplace and addressed implementation solutions for the surplus lines subtitle of the federal Nonadmitted and Reinsurance Reform Act (NRRA).

Due Next Tuesday!

Tuesday, August 14 is the final due date for:

All items can be filed and paid in your SLIP account.

Invoices and billing reports are available in SLIP. ACH payments can be made by clicking on Pay Invoices from the Invoicing tab in your SLIP account.
