Welcome to the August newsletter

Group picture of Leeds Trinity Honorary Fellows and staff

Dear

A warm welcome to the August newsletter. At the end of July, we were very proud to award our latest round of Honorary Fellowships. Three of the awardees were Leeds Trinity graduates: Fiona May (Double Olympic silver medal winner and three-times World Championship winner in the long jump), Mobeen Azhar (BAFTA award winning journalist and film maker) and John Flanagan (humanitarian, helping underprivileged people in the Philippines).

Honorary Fellows awarded in previous years joined us on the evening as well, several of whom are from our alumni community. Watch the ceremony.

You can find all the latest stories on our news webpage including a positive first Ofsted report for our apprenticeships.

The Graduate Skills Project Leeds Trinity is coordinating aims to upskill West Yorkshire graduates who graduated between 2018-2022 and support them into graduate-level employment across the region. It connects graduates to employment, through employer-informed training, short courses and networking opportunities.

Interested in working in the police force? Learning more about police roles? Or developing your skill set and networking with employers? Our current course is ‘Getting into Policing as a Graduate’ and will be hosted at the University of Huddersfield on 8 and 9 September. To learn more and enrol, visit Eventbrite

Featured alumni – Robert Bullock

Man graduating from PhD at Huddersfield

Congratulations to alumnus Robert Bullock (MA Creative Writing, 2017) who was recently awarded a PhD in Creative Writing from Huddersfield University.

Robert thrived on his MA Creative Writing course at Leeds Trinity and valued the honest and supportive feedback he could always rely on.

"I really enjoyed the chance to meet other writers and poets, most were writing very different prose to me, and I really liked that. I really enjoyed being back in academia during my MA. I liked the productive environment and I felt I had more I could achieve."
