New Classes at the Hall

This Spring you may have noticed an increasing number of classes being offered here at High Mountain Hall.  And we are adding even more fun new opportunities to move and stay fit!

Some of you may be aware of the fact that Kimberly Mahan, long time friend and teacher here at the Hall, will be moving away and taking her beloved class Sacred Sweat with her.  Though we cannot replace this unique offering, we have plans to fill the niche with a couple other fun, new, fitness and dance classes!  From Bokwa to the Insanity workout, we will have something for everyone. Read on to learn more...

We will also be holding a couple special workshops and classes this month! Please note that classes will have staggered start dates throughout the month.

Bokwa® with Nicki D.

Bokwa® is sweeping the globe! It’s unlike any other group cardio class. Participants walk letters and numbers with their feet while performing an energizing and addictive cardio workout routine. Bokwa uses universal sign language so that instructors and participants can signal the next move to the each other, making the workout a fun group experience for any age or fitness level. Developed over an 8-year period by international fitness personality Paul Mavi, a leading group fitness instructor in Los Angeles, California, Mavi created Bokwa with the philosophy that “If you can move, and you can spell, you can do Bokwa®. Originally inspired by boxing (BO) and Kwaito (KWA), an African street dance, each Bokwa step looks the same, whether it is done in Taiwan, South Africa, Poland or New Zealand. This gives instructors and participants the structure and confidence to do Bokwa at their own skill levels.” In a matter of months, Bokwa® took the UK by storm with tens of thousands of participants all over the country. Taiwan, South Africa, New Zealand and much of Europe followed shortly afterwards. Demand for classes exploded so rapidly that Bokwa launched a worldwide road tour.

Manifestation Group with Candace Green

Are you ready for CHANGE? Come and experience MANIFESTATION at it's deepest levels. This MANIFESTATION group will go for 5 or 6 weeks at High Mountain Hall on Sunday afternoons from 3:30 ~ 5:00 pm. Bring that which you wish to Manifest and let go of all your unconscious programs that keep you stuck! Learn to set boundaries around others that throw you off track, and deepen your awareness toward a process that you can continue to use for the rest of your life. This 1 1/2 hour class will include Energy Psychology techniques, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Imagery and other techniques that put energies in alignment with that which you wish to manifest. Powerful class with lots of experiential modalities that bring about positive change with ease! Research has shown that a GROUP experience provides "borrowed benefits" to all in attendance. This means that while one participant is focusing on releasing OR creating, YOU (each person in attendance) receives that experience in their energy field! I have seen absolute miracles happen in Group work! The unique detail about this is that you can attend each class and never say what you are working on! This work is collective, yet private if you wish to stay with your own inner process! Each class is only $25.00! Please sign up as soon as possible to secure your spot! Spring is the time of renewing and creating a life that is in alignment with that which you desire! Sign up now! I look forward to working with YOU! I look forward to watching the energies flow into this group with ease!

Warmly, Candace

afterGLOW Workshop with Kea

Come to this high energy yet grounding and exploratory workshop fresh off of the inspiration from the “Power Performance: Legacy Rising” Dance and Short Film Event premiered the previous weekend, April 4th & 5th!

Part 1: INTRO TO YOUR BODY Founder/Director Kea Tesseyman will take you through every area of your body in a fluid and releasing warm up, stretch and isolation segment, guiding you seamlessly into easy technique to give you a real behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a dancer????. You’ll be blown away by how these simple building blocks work together to molding and sculpting your frame into something graceful, strong and yes – POWERFUL! YOU!

Part 2: MOVEMENT AND BODY COMMUNICATION The second hour features contemporary movement, style and other attributes shown in the event – giving you the edge on how to get from the studio to the stage plus a real life experience of what it would be like to be the one delivering a performance – not just watching one. You have what it takes and Kea can’t wait to take you there! It’s easier than you think – fun – healthy – and so very freeing!

Part 3: YOUR POWER PERFORMANCE: In this third hour, now that your body is all warmed up, stretched out and studied with comfortable movement, you’re taken into a group Power Performance session. This is where you get to experience 1st hand what it’s like to be guided through the 6 steps of creating a Power Performance, including sharing thoughts, ideas and subjects you’d like to tell a story about. Unanimously as a group, you decide on one idea and let the choreography begin. Be a part of the magic as Kea takes you on a journey of showing you how choreography happens and then leads you through out the piece. You will be amazed by the end of the hour that you are now a dancer – you have learned choreography, told a story and are a part of the creation! Look at you Ms/Mr Fabulous! DON’T SECOND GUESS IT! IF YOU WANT TO DANCE – JUST SHOW UP! So what are you waiting for! You’re a dancer already – you just don’t know it yet! Or you do know it but you haven’t embraced it! Get out of your kitchen and into the studio! Let this workshop take you to that place you’ve always dreamed of going! Take the thought out of your mind that says “Oh I’ve got two left feet” or “I can’t move like that” and let Kea replace that thought with affirmation and fact - that yes you can move like that and she will most definitely share with you how. How do you think she started? 5 years old with a Michael Jackson tape – never took a class in her life till she was 17 years old – YES, YOU CAN DO IT TOO! The Power Performance afterGLOW! This is made JUST FOR YOU!

REGISTER: $35 pre register at the event April 4th or 5th or by April 10th - $45 at the door on the 12th
