Lambton Federation of Agriculture is Turning 75!

We are celebrating at our Annual General Meeting on November 18th at the Camlachie Community Centre.

Guests will enjoy a catered Beef Sirloin and Pheasant dinner, with a bread bar and desert.

Starting at 6pm, we will have entertainment, a guest speaker, door prizes and a 50/50 draw.

Proposed Constitution Changes for the Lambton Federation of Agriculture

The LFA will be holding its annual general meeting on Friday November 18th at the Camlachie Community Centre, in conjunction with its 75th anniversary celebration. Details to follow later this week.

Along with electing the 2016-2017 board of directors, an updated constitution will be presented to the members.

Find out what's going on with MPAC assessments

Business and farm property owners are now receiving their 2016 assessment notices from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, which is a great reason to attend the Chamber's "Breakfast with MPAC" event on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.


Tickets for this event are free (you pay for your breakfast separately) but space is limited.


The event begins at 8:30 and feature speaker Tracey Pringle, account manager with MPAC takes the microphone at 9 a.m.

October 5, 2016 County Council Highlights

Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting Wednesday, October 5, 2016, Lambton County Council:

Heard a presentation from the Lambton Shores Phragmites Community Group regarding grassroots initiatives the group has undertaken to address the invasive plant.  Council also requested a staff report regarding the County taking the lead in bringing stakeholders together to collaborate on solutions designed to prevent the spread of phragmites.
Received a report from the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) detailing changes to the composition and appointments of SLEP's Board of Directors.
Requested the Ontario Provincial Police to monitor speeds on Oil Heritage Road as it passes through Oil City.

Find a Safe Ride Home This Halloween

Sarnia, ON - The weekend around Halloween is statistically one of the busiest for impaired driving incidents in Canada and Lambton Public Health is encouraging those who consume alcohol to find a safe, alternate way home.

"If you plan to drink alcohol this Halloween, plan ahead," says Kelley Elliott, Health Promoter with Lambton Public Health.  "Set a limit on how much you plan to drink.  When your event is over, use a designated driver, taxi, or stay at a hotel or friend's house."
