The year that was...

YouTube journalism just keeps leading the field. If anyone had their doubts about the power of social media... may they rest in peace.

And closer to home...

Oh Alan...

Ouch...

Know thy Twitterers or pay the price

Some unlikely ladies rule the roost

I loved training people for The Circle. I spent heaps of time flirting outrageously and asking inappropriate questions. Worked a treat and prepared them for the real thing!

"Help, I'm being interviewed by Alan Kohler."

Throughout 2011, he is the man that gets media trainers iPhones ringing. Thanks Alan.

The rise of the Tumblr blog

How can you not love this mighty blog machine? Make a website in your lunch break.

The rise of the cat video...

No wonder we saw spoof videos of "catvertising" agencies. Masterful.

The rise and fall of those deals...

How many cheap massages and tacky Thai getaways can your in box stand?

The rise of backside journalism

This year, it became okay in mainstream press to write straight articles about people's behinds. My favorite was a report in the Herald Sun about Pippa Middleton's "backside coming trackside" for the 2012 Australian Grand Prix. Classy stuff.

The rise of the honey badger

Thanks Dave from The Royals for the tip off. My favorite for the year. This animal should become a business coach.

In lieu of cards this Christmas...

Start up businesses don't have heaps of spare cash (Santa can I have better cash flow next year?) however this Christmas Emily Ross Bespoke will be giving $250 to the Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative to improve the treatment of pancreatic cancer. My mum is currently going through treatment. Go Mum!

Book February training dates by Christmas for 10% off.

Just refer to the "newsletter offer" when booking.

And finally, the scariest Christmas window of all

Joyeux noel. Happy Hanukkah. Seasons Greetings.

Hope your silly season is in full swing. I want to thank you for your fantastic support in 2011. Every website, media training assignment, every report, every feature, speech and web strategy has been a joy. I hope you have a fantastic break and will come back to 2012 firing on all cylinders. xxx Emily
