30 Days of Action

Learn

Education is an important tool in our combined efforts to act on climate. Each Monday of the 30 Days of Action, we share a story about an issue relating to climate change. Topics include addressing food security and justice, Arctic advocacy efforts in the church, preparing the next generation to adapt to and address climate change, and today’s story, “Reclaiming climate change as a moral issue.”

Here’s an excerpt:

When California Bishop Marc Andrus wants to engage people in a conversation about climate change he doesn’t throw statistics at them, rather he begins with a question like: When was the last time you had an experience of wonder in the natural world?

“If we can connect people back to it, or open them up for a fresh experience with wonder, it’s a great starting place for recovering a sense of why [climate change] is a moral issue …”

Hopefully, these stories will teach you something new and inspire you. Once you read today's story, share it on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtags #Episcopal #30Days.
