Security Concerns at Eagleton: Please Read

Security in PGA National — and Eagleton in particular — is a shared responsibility. While St. Moritz Security, our contracted provider, plays a key role in maintaining safety, residents also play an important part in protecting their homes, property, and the overall community.

Tailgating at General Drive
An ongoing concern is tailgating at the General Drive entry, where some contractors and visitors follow barcoded homeowners through the gate without authorization. Thanks to our video camera system, alert residents, and the vigilance of our gate officers, these incidents are quickly detected, and security patrol officers respond and address the violators directly at their destination. Those caught tailgating are logged and warned that repeat violations will result in being barred from future entry into Eagleton. Additionally, if a vehicle knocks off the gate arm, an administrative fee of $250 is charged to cover response and reinstallation costs. If a new gate arm is required due to damage, the total cost can reach up to $1,000. Failure to pay within 30 days will result in denied entry until payment is made. We appreciate residents reminding their contractors and guests that unauthorized entry is not tolerated and can lead to substantial monetary penalties as well as being barred from entry to all addresses within Eagleton.

A New Security Challenge: Tailgating at the main entry to Eagleton
A deeply concerning new trend has recently emerged — incidents of tailgating through the resident-only lane at the main Eagleton entry off Ryder Cup Boulevard. Given that this gate is staffed 24/7, these breaches raise serious security concerns. To ensure the safety and security of all residents, it is imperative that every guest, whether on a homeowner's permanent list or visiting on a one-time basis, be properly logged in by the gate officer. This protocol not only maintains controlled access but also ensures that security personnel have accurate records should an incident require further investigation. Combined with modern LPR camera technology, violators are immediately identified, and patrol officers respond quickly. In such cases, the Palm Beach Gardens Police may be called to issue a trespass warning to the operator of the vehicle. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in adhering to these procedures, as they play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our community's security.

Helping Visitors Navigate Eagleton's Entry Points
Despite efforts to have Google Maps, Waze, and other mapping services mark the General Drive entry as restricted-access, success has been limited. To avoid confusion, we recommend providing visitors with 11 Championship Drive (the Eagleton gatehouse) as their initial destination, followed by your specific address — or simply ensuring that guests know to enter via the Eagleton gate off Ryder Cup Boulevard. This will direct them to the staffed entrance from where they can continue to your home.
