It's My Right, Isn't It?

Secondary students in Years 8-10 are invited to join us for our new digital excursion It’s My Right, Isn’t It? where we explore the freedoms of speech, association and assembly by looking at key historical events and decisions that have taken place in our building.  Students examine these freedoms in relation to current events and consider why it’s important that they are active and engaged citizens in our democracy and how they can contribute for positive change.  ‘

Democracy 2025 survey

As part of an ethics committee approved joint research project initiated by The University of Canberra, MoAD is collecting information from young people regarding their understanding of democracy.
We are inviting secondary students to participate in an important survey trial during their visit to the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD).
The survey supports the Learning principles of MoAD’s school programs, where students critically engage with the democratic concepts and processes of political participation, representation and decision-making. It also represents a real example of student voice and agency in action.
