Campus’ Oldest Library Gets Shiny New Makeover
It’s been a long time coming, but after extensive refurbishments, an earthquake or two, and the demolition of its neighbouring buildings, the entirety of the Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) Library is now back on its feet – and better than ever. No matter what you’re studying, EPS is a great place to get your work done, so make sure you have a browse.
Protect Your Valuables - Get Them UV Marked
Police will be on campus on Wednesday 2 May to mark students' laptops and cellphones with a UV pen, so if they are stolen and recovered they can be identified. Level 2 James Hight building, 10am - 2pm.
Volunteer Worker Research Project - Win a $100 Westfield Voucher
You are invited to participate in a research project on the factors influencing volunteer worker retention, being carried out by Dr Sanna Malinen from the University's Management Department. The confidential survey takes about 20 minutes, and you can enter a prize draw for a $100 Westfield voucher.

This is a day-long conference that will bring together 100 youth (16-24) of different backgrounds to look into the reasons why youth are not participating in the voting process and how to get them engaged in civil society, particularly important in post-quake Christchurch.

Tell Your Earthquake Story in the UC QuakeBox
UC researchers from the New Zealand Institute of Language Brain and Behaviour (NZILBB) and UC CEISMIC (Canterbury Earthquake Digital Archive) have created the UC QuakeBox, a recording booth where Christchurch residents can make an audio or video recording of their earthquake experiences. Check it out in Cashel Mall, 10am - 3pm every day (except Monday).
Uni Games
Well done to the UC participants at the recent Uni Games, held in Wellington. Our volleyball and hockey teams brought home gold in their respective fields, Ultimate had four members selected in the tournament team, and the bowls team... certainly bowled.
