CULTIVATE: Resilient Hope
A Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leadership Conference

Leaders in ministry with young adults on and off college campuses are invited to CULTIVATE: Resilient Hope. Our time together will focus on how we, as leaders and mentors, can cultivate resilient hope in our everyday lives and in our communities, in the midst of the current events in our country.

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will be with us on Monday to preach and discuss the importance of young adult and campus ministry.

Preconference
We are sponsoring a Preconference on Sunday, June 24, from 2-6 p.m. that is geared toward those who are new to ministry (those who have entered in the last three years) and those who want to explore some of the basics of doing ministry with young adults.

Registration includes hotel, programming, Sunday dinner, Monday and Tuesday breakfast and lunch, and Wednesday breakfast. Accommodations are provided at the Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown/Convention Center on a first-come, first-served basis. Our meeting space, St. David’s Episcopal Church, is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Shuttles will be available.

  • Double Room: $280.00
  • Commuter: $50.00 per day

Current student or Episcopal Service Corps member (subsidized rate – only shared accommodation is available at the subsidized rate):

  • Double Room: $200.00
  • Commuter: $40.00 per day

Young Adult and Campus Ministry Grants Applications 2017

Applications are now accepted for grants to assist with young adults and campus ministries in The Episcopal Church.

Grants are intended to provide funding for an Episcopal ministry (or ecumenical ministry with an Episcopal presence) in a diocese, congregation, or community college/tribal college/university campus that is currently engaging or seeking a new relationship with young adults on and off college campuses.

Grants are for the 2017-18 academic year. A total of $128,000 is available for this cycle, with a total of $400,000 available this triennium.

United Thank Offering young adult seminarian grants awarded for 2017
The 2017 United Thank Offering grants for seven seminarians and four young adults were approved by Executive Council at its February meeting.

Episcopal Youth Event 2017
The Episcopal Youth Event will be held July 10-14 at the University of Central Oklahoma. New this year is the Pastoral Care Team, young adults and adults from across the Church who are volunteering to serve during EYE17 as residential staff, peer ministers, chaplains, and Medical Care Team members.

Office of Government Relations Internship Summer 2017
The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations is seeking an intern to provide research, policy, and administrative support during the summer of 2017, from May to August. This policy, research, and advocacy internship, based at our Capitol Hill office, provides the intern with opportunities to learn and practice the skills of policy research and analysis, advocacy, and engagement.

Registration open for innovative course: Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency
Registration is now open for the Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency, an innovative nine-day intensive course designed for diocesan staff, clergy, lay leaders, and seminarians to learn cultural competency and ministry to the Latino/Hispanic population in the United States. The course will be held June 18-27 at Seminary of the Southwest.
