The musculoskeletal system consists of bones, cartilage, tendons, muscles, and ligaments. Primary functions of the musculoskeletal system include support of the body, provision of motion, and protection of vital organs. Building a strong musculoskeletal system requires movement.
Physical therapists are specially trained healthcare professionals that focus on the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunction. Educated in anatomy and physiology, we are experts in understanding how movement, posture, and function affect the wellness of our patients. Our goal is to promote healthy, pain-free activities that maximize productivity and enjoyment in both work and recreation. We promote healing by reducing pain and inflammation, increasing range of motion and strength, and improving posture, body awareness, and body mechanics.
