When patients come to me asking for help with their skin, I want to recommend a treatment I feel confident will deliver consistent results and I have found this in the Obagi Nu-Derm System. Throughout our lives we all experience occasional sunburns, regular sun exposure, hormonal changes, stress, and environmental pollution. All these factors contribute to the signs of premature aging. The Nu-Derm System has been formulated to improve the signs of aging at the cellular level. This prescription-strength skin care system transforms the appearance of aging skin by helping not only with pigmentation but also with pore size, fine lines, rough texture, and uneven skin tone. To find out if the Obagi Nu-Derm System is right for your skin, schedule a complimentary consultation. Introducing the NEW Cool Petite: The Perfect Remedy for our CoolSculpting Petite Patients By: Gail Young, Licensed Massage Therapist
The UPPER ARMS challenge for women: Get your sleeveless holiday dress arms ready NOW! Tricep dips, overhead tricep press, lying tricep extensions, skullcrushers, – you name it, I’ve tried it, but it seems to be one of the most difficult body areas to keep looking firm and youthful. Before CoolSculpting, wearing a sleeveless top or dress was not an option unless I had a sweater or jacket to wear on top. Sound familiar? It’s not a matter of size or weight; as women age the upper arms seem to be the first area on a woman’s body to age, sag, and look ‘old’ before their time. The great news is this trouble area can be treated with CoolSculpting! CoolSculpting is an FDA approved, non-invasive procedure that works by delivering controlled cooling to gently and effectively target fat cells underneath the skin while leaving the skin itself unaffected. The fat cells are frozen, and die. Your body processes the waste from these fat cells and eliminates them naturally, leaving a more sculpted YOU! Most people can expect a 20-25 percent reduction in fat per treatment. No surgery, no needles, no downtime! It takes about two hours to treat both arms, and we do it a second time around eight weeks after the first round of treatment. Most women see/feel results in the first month, but it usually takes about 2-3 months after your second treatment to realize your full results. Start now to get ready for those holiday dresses or winter vacations. You’ll be happy you did! Latest news! We now have the COOL PETITE applicator from CoolSculpting. This applicator is perfect for those small pockets of fat and for smaller framed patients, who in the past were not candidates for CoolSculpting due to their petite frame. Peels 101: Why You Should Think About Getting a Peel By: Kelley Marshall and Cheryl Hood, Licensed Medical Aestheticians Fall is fast approaching, which means the sun is not as hot and we all could use a refresher for our skin from the sun. Here is where chemical peels come in to play. And, you don't have to look like Samantha during a chemical peel (all of our Sex and the City fans remember that moment)! A chemical peel or series of peels is the most effective non-surgical procedure for improving the skin's appearance. Chemical peels for the face range from light/superficial to deep, depending on the skin type. Some skin types require just superficial treatment, while others require deeper penetration. Here at Hull Aesthetics, we are happy to consult with you to determine what type of skin you have and which type of peel or peel series will be best for you. Let's go over what chemical exfoliation/ chemical peels involve. First, chemical exfoliation and peels use chemical agents to create a controlled wound. All peels (whether they are chemical or laser) create a mild burn. They improve the skin by the wound healing process; new tissue is created and damaged tissue is quickly replaced. Chemical peels stimulate the FIBROBLAST wound healing activity; the proliferation of FIBROBLASTS increases COLLAGEN and ELASTIN. Yeah!!! That is what we want. The depth of the wound determines the amount and intensity of healing. The body's response to the burn is what yields the results. A deeper peel will result in more correction, if needed. The benefits of a chemical peel are numerous. It improves the appearance of the following:
Here are a few of the peels that will be on special at the Open House, November 1st: VI Peel Series, Mini Melanage and Melanage, and Radiance. Getting Ready for Open House: A Review of Laser Hair Reduction, Excel V, and VBeam Perfecta By: Millie Roberson, RN Last month, we reviewed some of our popular laser treatments. With our Spooktacular Fall Open House right around the corner, we wanted to focus on three more treatments: Laser Hair Reduction, Excel-V, and VBeam Perfecta. First, let's review a few important facts about lasers:
Q&A Laser Hair Reduction How does it work? Who is a candidate? How many treatments will I need? What to expect after treatment?
Q&A Excel V How does it work? Who is a candidate? How many treatments will I need? It is recommended that you come in prior to treatment for a consultation to establish a treatment plan. Most people need about 3-6 treatments depending on what is being treated. What to expect after treatment?
Q&A VBeam Perfecta How does it work? Who is a candidate? How many treatments will I need? What to expect after treatment? Health fairs always signal the beginning of fall. By the time the last health fair is over, our open house season is beginning and we move straight into our Fall Open House. Every year, we attend numerous health fairs in the area. Some of these are the Senior Heath Expo in Bella Vista, the Benton County Health Fair in downtown Bentonville, the Harber Meadows Expo in Springdale, and the AWC Wellness Fair at the Rogers Adult Wellness Center. To be honest, I absolutely love health fairs. Being a resident of Bella Vista for almost 14 years, I have developed a special bond with our senior community, as well as other residents of all ages. I have been attending these events for nine years and I still enjoy each one of them and consider it a privilege that my coworkers and I are able to participate. Getting to know our community and educating people about skin health is one of my favorite parts of being a nurse. Attending health fairs allows us to visit with people of all ages and see new and familiar faces. We are able to show them why taking care of their skin is important and cheer them on for having their skin checked. We make people aware of our clinic locations and teach them about different dermatological and aesthetic procedures. Our health fair team is myself, our Development Director Debbie Pierceall, and Hillary Stevenson, Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator at our sister company, Northwest Arkansas Clinical Trials. Between the three of us, we are able to educate a large number of people about all things Hull. I am there to provide medical expertise, Debbie helps covers our services and upcoming events, and Hillary is able to share new and exciting clinical trials studies with the attendees. If you ever see us out at any of these community health fairs, or any of the numerous other events we participate in, please stop by and say hello. I know I would love to see you. Missed Appointment Policy We have recently amended our Missed Appointment Policy. We try to contact all of our patients at least 24 hours before their scheduled appointment to remind them of the date and time. If you can't keep a scheduled appointment, please inform us by telephone at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a "no show" fee. Missing an appointment scheduled for an hour or less will incur a $50 fee and missing an appointment scheduled for more than one hour will incur a $100 fee per hour. You will be unable to schedule a new appointment or receive any other services until this fee is paid in full. Thank You! We at Hull Dermatology & Aesthetics are thankful for all of our patients. To our existing patients, I say thank you. For our new patients that are just joining our family, I welcome each of you. My staff and I
are dedicated to providing outstanding medical and cosmetic dermatology for the Northwest Arkansas area and beyond. |
