Alcohol Awareness Week 2014: When Their Drinking Becomes Your Problem!

Hidden Harm: Children living with problem parental alcohol and other drug use

BelongToThe National Hidden Harm Project has been established by HSE Social Inclusion and the Child and Family Agency to inform service planning and improved services for children in relation to Hidden Harm.

Phase 1 of the project involved a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting which took place in the Radisson Hotel Sligo. This meeting included a number of presentations from experts in the field.

MRDTF and HSE CADS Benzodiazepine Conference Videos

NACDA Benzodiazepine Conference entitled 'Facing the Facts' was recently organised by the Midland Regional Drugs Task Force (MRDTF) and HSE CADS (Community, Alcohol and Drug Service) Midlands Area.

The aim of the Conference was to bring together interested individuals and agencies working in the area of addiction to look at the impact of Benzodiazepine use/abuse on the community within the Midlands region.

Drugs.ie Wins Bronze Award

aDrugs.ie has won the Bronze Award in the Best Public Life (Government, Charity & Non-Profit) category of the Samsung Digital Media Awards 2014.

The announcement was made at the awards ceremony in Double Tree Hilton, Burlington Road in February.

National Drugs Strategy Conference Videos

A National Drugs Strategy Conference was held in Dublin Castle on 16th January 2014, speakers included Susan Scally, Head of Drug Policy Unit, Department of Health, Minister of State for Primary Care, Alex White TD, An Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore TD.

Topics included Supporting the Local Effort to Tackle the Drug Problem and Incorporating Alcohol in Prevention Work, as well as the perspective from the community and voluntary sectors.
