Welcome to our first edition of 1898 for the 2020-2021 academic year! Already, summer is feeling farther behind us and we hope you are enjoying the return of sweater season with the added warmth of good memories from enjoyable times with friends and loved ones. You’ve added to our warm feelings with your interesting contributions to virtual discussions and kind updates throughout the pandemic—we thank you!

In September, the School reopened its gates on Balaclava and Blenheim, welcoming students back on campus. The School administration worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure a safe environment for all and our warm feelings grew as classrooms, hallways, and of course the woods filled with students, their laughter and voices.

That’s why—after considering your feedback—we realized it was time to make a few changes to 1898. Going forward, we’d like this to be a space where we share the experiences of current students, as well as that of the alumnae who have led the way for them. A place where Crofton House girls of past and present intermingle and commonalities at the heart of our community shine through. From current students, you’ll hear about how school is for them, their special initiatives, as well as the daily projects happening within the Junior and Senior Schools. We look forward to keeping everyone connected this school year!

A Warm and Thoughtful Welcome from Ena Harrop, Head of School
