Sweet Dreams

Jennifer E., Senior Editor

Halloween is around the corner, which means a lot of candy is about to get eaten (yayer!). This year, we want to indulge on some sweets that are a little off the beaten path, but scary delicious nonetheless. See what we found below!

Raising The Bar

This tiny gem carries a bevy of high quality, preservative-free chocolate and confections. For trick-or-treaters, we recommend picking up some of their suckers. These Belgian chocolate lollipops come in milk and dark chocolate, and are wrapped in colorful packaging designed by local artist Derek Lingle. And, of course, you can never go wrong with their signature Belgian chocolate bars!

Dress Up Your Home

I love sprucing up my adobe with fun Halloween decorations…especially when they’re made with candy. This Halloween basket of sour gummies really caught my eye, as did these little, candy-stuffed pumpkins. The main attraction at this candy haven though is the vast selection of Scandinavian sweets, or "smågodis” (translation: little candies), which are neatly stacked in glass cases along the shops’s walls. Mix chocolates, marshmallows, sour treats, and more into your own little (or big) bag of candy. Now, that’s a sweet idea.

What's Great About Britain

Tea isn't the only thing that's great about Britain. This British shop specializes in tea, but what a lot of folks don't know is that they also have a selection of delectable candy. The Cadbury crunchie chocolate bars with a honeycombed-sugar center are one of my favorites, and their small, packaged size make them a perfect choice for trick-or-treaters. I also love the Cadbury flake chocolate bar, made from strands of crumbly milk chocolate…and other secret ingredients!
