The Firefighters Burn Institute is very busy planning for our upcoming Firefighters Tropical Affair while simultaneously planning for our Firefighters Kids Camp. I could say that we are smack dab in the middle of our “busy season”, but in all honesty, it is always our busy season! We are very fortunate to have the continued help and support from our volunteers and our community. This is what keeps us going and doing the important work we do to help burn survivors and the burn care community.
Mark your calendars! This year’s Firefighters Tropical Affair will be held on Saturday, June 27th at Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento, CA. There is no doubt that this year’s party will be our biggest and best yet! The evening will include Sacramento’s finest restaurants, wineries and breweries, live music and dancing with Foreverland, tropical cocktails, a hula show and the CW 31’s Mark S. Allen as our guest MC. This will truly be a night to remember so save the date!
Our Firefighters Kids Camp will be held a month following the Firefighter’s Tropical Affair. Located in the beautiful foothills above Livermore, the Taylor Family Foundation’s Camp Arroyo this the perfect setting to provide young burn survivors with a fun and safe outdoor environment that encourages healing. In addition to the endless in-camp activities, this year we have scheduled a day for our older campers to travel to AT&T Park to see a San Francisco Giants game. We are very excited for camp this year and we hope our campers are too!
There is so much going on here at the Firefighters Burn Institute and so much to look forward to in these upcoming months. Please know that we could not do any of this without your help. Thank you again for your continued support and I hope to see you on June 27th!
