This newsletter covers the week after Spring Break.  We hope you have a wonderful time with your family!

• Spelling & Phonics - “ow” & “ou” words (spelling will be ow words)
• Words to Know: buy, myself, school, city, party, seven, family, please
• Comprehension Skills & Strategies - Understanding Characters
• Writing - Narrative Writing
• Vocabulary Strategies - Synonyms
• Grammar - Contractions; Review & Label parts of speech in sentences
• Math - Start Chapter 17 on weight; Practice math facts at home
• Science -The Easter Egg

• March 18-22: Spring Break
• April 1: Transition Meeting for 1st to 2nd grade at 11:30 am; these meetings are an opportunity to preview the upcoming grade level with you.  Each meeting is bumped up to your child's lunch period if you would like to eat with your child. 
• April 1-5: Terra Nova Testing (please don’t make morning appointments during these dates and make every effort to be here)
• April 19: Good Friday-NO SCHOOL (This date has been added to the calendar)
• May 23: Last Day of School (This date could change if we have any more snow days)
