Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy - Wilsonville

Greetings from TAI Physical Therapy - Wilsonville

When Amanda and I opened the clinic a little over 2 years ago I was excited to get to know Wilsonville and expand the clinic to fit the needs of what would soon become our community.  Since then we have added to our amazing staff including a physical therapist, Jens, and PT Aides including Kinley, Glenn, and James. In adding to our staff we have also been given the opportunity to add further services and specialties to our repertoire. This made me realize we needed a way to continue to communicate with those current patients and those who have graduated from our care (that’s you guys). So we will be doing a monthly newsletter to keep everyone up to date on the goings on in the clinic, any changes we have in staff or services, and to give you a means of giving us more feedback. We want to let you know what we are doing, but we also want to be a way in which you communicate with others. So if there is an event, team sponsorship, or fundraiser that you are involved in, please let us know. We will help as best as we can!

I hope this newsletter finds you well, and if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to e-mail me at sarahm@taiweb.com.

Have a great October!!!

Sports Performance Programs Now Offered at TAI Wilsonville!

Here at Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy-Wilsonville we want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to Get Moving! We realize it can be difficult to get back into your normal fitness routine after an injury and making sure you are comfortable is one of our highest priorities. So due to high interest we have started to offer Adult Fitness, Golf Fitness, and Personal Training with the goal of improving fitness and health and prevent reinjury. Adult fitness is for anyone looking to improve their overall endurance and fitness levels in a circuit style class. Golf fitness is aimed at improving your drive by strengthening in the same planes as functional golf movements. Personal training is individually focused on the needs of the client and involves a 20-minute strength and flexibility screen completed by one of our physical therapists.

All classes and training are led by Glenn Guillory. Glenn grew up in Los Angeles, California before moving to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 2014. He has participated in competitive sports for the majority of his life, excelling in football, basketball and track & field. His passion for strength and conditioning along with sports medicine contributed to his decision to pursue a career in sports performance and personal training. In 2014, Glenn graduated at the top 2.5% of his class, earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology - option Exercise Science from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. Since becoming a personal trainer, Glenn has works with all demographics from high school athletes to senior citizens.  Glenn is passionate about sharing his love for physical fitness and improving one’s well-being.

We are excited to have Glenn leading these classes and can’t wait to have you involved.

October 2015 - Christina Lassen

Tell us your story:
I got injured in April 2015 from a left shoulder dislocation. I had orthopedic surgery in June 2015 and have been doing physical therapy since Sept 2015. I have my full range of motion back which I didn’t have starting and now I am working on getting it stronger so i can go back to doing my job as a vet tech assistant.

What does Physical Therapy mean to you?
Physical therapy means a lot to me. It has help me get stronger and without the awesome Sarah I wouldn't be where I am today. They have a wonderful caring team who takes time in working with you and your progress. Sarah is an awesome person and I am very lucky to have her as my physical therapist.

Favorite PT exercise?
My favorite PT exercise would have to be the rope pulls, rings, and the ball exercises. I also do love the ice and stem after my work out.

Most hated PT exercise?
The PT exercise that I hate the most would have to be push ups since I am not very strong in my arms as I am with my legs.

Thank you to the team at Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy! You guys are awesome and I look forward to the next few visits in getting my shoulder strong again! Thank you for picking me as your patient of the month!!!! Oh and GO DUCKS!!!!!!
