Upcoming Week

  • Bible Verse: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”  Psalm 150:6 (We will recite this verse during our program.  Practice at home too!)
  • Bible Story: Peter is Freed
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness:  We will review letters/sounds next week.
  • Math:  Review
  • Unit: Jungle Animals
  • Show and Tell: No show and tell next week.

Important Dates

  • April 20th – Jungle program at 8:30 in the Worship Center, field trip to the Maples Assisted Living and to Tyson Park
  • April 21st – Fans for Cans Day!  Our April mission project is to supply the Compassion Center with as many canned goods as possible. Be a fan by wearing your favorite team shirt and bring canned items to school.  The Compassion Center is in need of items with protein (soups, peanut butter, beans, etc).  Also, bulk items are difficult to store and to divide among their clients so please provide regular size canned goods.  Thank you for partnering with us to teach the children to help others in need.
  • April 27th – Field trip to Farm Friends.  Parents are invited to meet us at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center (1335 W Knapp St., Fayetteville) at 11:55.  Wear field trip shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to see and touch baby farm animals!
  • May 5th – Flip flop day! Bring $1 and wear your favorite pair of flip flops.
  • May 17th – Bike Day for PreK/3 day classes
  • May 18th – Last day of school for 3 day classes
  • May 19th – School holiday
  • May 23rd – Bike Day and last day of school for 5 day classes
  • May 24th - PRE-K Parent/Teacher Conferences

Reminders

  • The “BIG” day is almost here!  We are so excited to perform our Jungle program for parents, family, and friends.  The children have worked hard and are ready to share our performance!  Please have your child to school on Thursday, April 20 at 8:00. We need time to change and get prepared! Girls do not need to wear bows on Thursday; we have special hats for the children.
  • Following our program, we will load the buses and go to The Maples Assisted Living.  What a blessing that we can sing for the “grandmas” and “grandpas” there!  Due to space restrictions, parents cannot join us at The Maples.  However, parents are WELCOME to meet us at Tyson/Rotary Park (on the corner of 48th and Watson streets) around 10:30. We will have a picnic lunch and enjoy some fun at the park!  We plan to return to school at 12:30.  You may sign out your child from the park if you wish.
  • Children need to wear their purple field trip shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes to school on Thursday. Students need to bring a sack lunch and 1 disposable water bottle (please do not send lunch boxes!)
  • We wish each family a wonderful Easter, focusing on and celebrating our risen Savior!
  • Snacks:  Cereal, goldfish, crackers, or pretzels
