Held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the conference aims to unite Latinx communities to make transformative impacts on socio-economic and civic statuses across New York State and beyond. Somos brings together approximately 800 city, state, and federal elected officials as well as nonprofit, corporate, union, and government leaders. CPC attended Somos in order to discuss our policy priorities for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community and for the human services sector. Our AAPI Reception was well attended by approximately 100 individuals. Congresswoman Grace Meng was a special guest. We thanked outgoing Council Member Peter Koo and welcomed incoming Council Members Shahana Hanif, Linda Lee, Shekar Krishnan, Chi Osse, Sandra Ung, and Julie Won. Thank you to all elected officials, incoming council members, and allies for attending our inaugural AAPI Reception! Learn more about the Somos El Futuro Conference here.
