Opportunities in 2020 Dear A very warm welcome to the first ICE alumni newsletter of 2020! Hopefully you've got back in the swing of things after the Christmas break! As well as receiving this quarterly newsletter, if you haven't already, you can also opt in to our Leeds Trinity Education Network (LTEN) group. LTEN is a free, community network for schools, colleges, universities and relevant public and third sector education organisations associated with Leeds Trinity University. Join here. NQT Supper Club I wanted to make you aware, in case you hadn't already seen, we have a very exciting new initiative coming very soon - our first NQT Supper Club is taking place on Thursday 27 February. Venue: The Reliance pub (in Leeds) Why not join us for an evening of shared experiences, support with problem solving and cross-school networking. Guest speaker Vanessa Mudd, an expert in personal organisation, will share tips to help you re-set your work-life balance and conquer the ‘To-Do List’. Book your place here. Meeting up with our teachersOne of the most rewarding parts of my job is getting out and about to catch up with Leeds Trinity graduate teachers and sharing their success stories, advice and experiences. Recently I went out to photograph and interview Sarah O'Mahony (pictured above) who teaches Maths at Thirsk School and Rob Potts (pictured below) who is Assistant Principal at Fulneck School. These visits can just be a catch up and photoshoot or can lead to outreach work, school visits or other exciting projects with our Recruitment Team. If you are interested in finding out more about possibly linking to Leeds Trinity email us and we'll send you more information. Save the date! The NQT / Early Career Teacher conference is taking place at Leeds Trinity University on Friday 26 June this year. The theme is 'Supporting Teachers Supporting Students'. New MA in Education Our new MA in Education is a part-time programme designed to develop and strengthen your identity, critical confidence and academic expertise as a serving educational professional. Through a developmental sequence of modules you will strengthen your skills of critically reflective practice and practical enquiry. Students range from early career teachers to senior leaders and managers to those who support learning. Find out more here. What would you like to see in this newsletter? We'd really love to hear what you'd like to see in future additions of this newsletter. Is there a particular topic you'd like us to cover or would you like to share your experience of your first few months of teaching or offer advice as an experienced teacher? Please email us with your thoughts. Wishing you a very successful 2020! Best wishes Leeds Trinity University
