 Tick Tock Goes the Clock…
Is it me or do all the seasons seem to merge into one? Did we have a summer, or was that spring and where has autumn gone? While our Fair Isle chooses to play seasonal tricks on us at least we have our trusty calendar to keep us informed of whereabouts and it’s… November!? It’s time to allow panic-mode to seep in, but before you start trudging through countless catalogues we’ve pulled together some ideal stocking fillers for a baby’s first Christmas.
Don’t let relentless shopping bog down your social life – check out some of the great events happening in your local area. So just because the clocks may have altered make November a fun one and embrace family life whether it’s at your local bonfire night or at a Christmas market.

Founded six years ago, The Independent School Show is a substantial stepping-stone into the private education sector. With a diverse range of independent schools come and talk to the schools’ representatives. Listen to many speakers in the Education Theatre, topics will cover fees, tutoring, parenting methods and other burning topics.

Brockham Olympic and Jubilee Bonfire Celebrations, warmly welcome families to a traditional night of family fun and celebrations to raise funds for local societies, worthy causes and local charities. You can expect to see a range of activities beginning with children’s fancy dress at Brockham Village Hall at 2pm. Brockham Lane closes to all traffic between 5.30pm and 10.30pm. The lighting of the bonfire will be at 7.45pm followed by a firework display at 8.12pm (20.12). In the evening there will lso be a pig auction and a raffle draw.

Kingston upon Thames is set to enjoy a colourful festival treat when a traditional Tudor-style market sets up in the town square. The town centre will be transformed into a winter wonderland with stalls housed in Tudor-style wooden chalets and all the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas promises to get you in the festive mood! The market will be held from 8 November to 24 December and promises a host of tasty culinary delights and original, quality, handmade arts, crafts and gift ideas for all the family.

This is followed by story time and woodland crafts back in the classroom. Refreshments are included. A great event allowing you to get out and about this winter.
