Faculty & Staff Giving CampaignDear Colleagues, In a matter of days, COVID-19 upended our lives and it continues to test our resolve. As we struggle to make sense of it all, our students are the ones who are struggling the most among our campus community. Our students are confronting the loss of work, health care and child care options, they are homeschooling their children, experiencing housing and food insecurity, and some have inadequate technology for distance learning, placing them at a higher risk of dropping out. We all feel the pressures they are facing, and I have worked with many of you to use institutional resources to help. Today, I invite you to help, too, by participating in the 2020 Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign by making a donation to the Annual Fund for student emergency needs. Gifts will help students weather this crisis by providing:
As always, WSU Vancouver’s goal is based on participation. Imagine how powerful it would be to report increased participation from WSU Vancouver faculty and staff to students, alumni and external partners. My appeal to you is simple—whether this will be your first gift or a special gift in addition to your existing payroll deduction, please contribute if you can. Your generosity will make an immediate difference in the lives of students who are unable to meet the unexpected financial burdens resulting from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. On a personal note, Lee and I have doubled our monthly donation during this crisis to support the student emergency fund. Please join us. To contribute during the campaign and learn about giving options, visit the Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign webpage. Now is the time to come together as VanCougs. In solidarity, Mel Netzhammer P.S. The WSU Foundation is waiving its administration fee for gifts made to the Annual Fund for student emergency needs. Your entire gift will be used to help students in need. |
