Congressional Candidates Participate in Forum

A full house came out on the evening of April 14th to get to know the candidates for the newly formed District 2 Congressional Seat. Pat Watkins did a great job of moderating the forum; each candidate was asked pertinent questions about the concerns many Americans have when they are choosing a Representative.

All candidates for this seat were invited; Jeff Moran, Ken Sukhia, and Mary Thomas were able to attend.

There are so many serious issues facing our country; we need to be doubly diligent in trying to choose people who are going to uphold their oath to the Constitution, work on decreasing our spending and debt, and advance personal liberty!

Meet the Candidates!

We will hold two meetings per month beginning in May. We are inviting candidates from both counties each time. The May 12th meeting will feature:

Terry Huddleston - Columbia Co. Superintendent of Schools

W. B. Crotty - Suwannee Co. Commission District 1

Tim Murphy - Columbia Co. Commission District 5

Julie Ulmer - Suwannee Co. Superintendent of Schools

Halford Harris - Suwannee Co. Sheriff

Fred Schutte - State Representative

We have a lot of influence and can go a long way toward choosing the best candidates for the positions they are running for. Please plan on attending these meetings; invite your family and friends! We really appreciate the candidates taking their time to come speak to us!

On Monday May 2nd, CFACT’s groundbreaking film Climate Hustle will be shown in movie theaters across the United States for a special one-night event. This movie will be shown in Gainesville at the Regal 14 Theatre on Archer Road.

No Hearings No Votes

From Lane Watkins: Recently, I described the scene outside the Supreme Court on Monday, April 18, where illegal Aliens were bussed in to rally for Obama’s executive action allowing them to stay in the US. (Quick editorial: If you don’t think Obama wants to give them the right to vote, didn’t the Gov. of VA just give 200,000 felons voting rights? This is the fight of our lives, literally)

On Monday, social media was alive with posts from Illegals bragging about the busloads of them from as far away as Chicago attending the rally. Some estimate the number of Illegals at from 8,000 to 10,000 at least.

I pass this along to remind you that the groups wanting to destroy our country are well organized and well funded and serious about succeeding. Now we have a vacancy on the Supreme Court. These illegal alien groups and the Left are exerting enormous pressure on Senators to confirm an Obama nominee. Please keep this in mind as you make your personal priorities for your time and money.

Tea Party Patriots has 2 petitions awaiting your signature.
•One asks the Senate to stay strong in not considering a Supreme Court nominee. Please make the time to sign the petition to the Senate. Go to http://www.teapartypatriots.org/supremecourtdefenders/ There you can sign up to be a volunteer to help make sure no Obama nominee is considered by the Senate. Or, you can simply sign the petition. Please go there and at least sign the petition. Please also pass this to others and ask them to do the same.

The North Central Florida Tea Party is a group of citizens who are concerned about where our nation is heading. We are a grassroots, non-partisan group opposed to wasteful deficit spending and infringement of our natural rights. We do have a well-defined and uniform slate of principles on which we center our advocacy and support for political candidates. These principles include, first and foremost, advocating for Essential Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free-enterprise, national defense, and traditional American values. Our goals are to educate ourselves on the issues facing us today, act on what we learn, and motivate other like-minded people to become involved. The Tea Party is simply a loose description of local activism driven by Americans who want smaller government and more self-reliance. That sounds like what the Founding Fathers had in mind, does it not?
