CIO Conversion
Last month, Parliament approved the conversion process enabling charitable companies to convert to Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status. A staged roll-out has been announced starting from 1 Jan 2018 with the good news that the phased implementation starts with the smallest organisations (initially accepting applications from organisations with an annual income of less than £12,500). The Charity Commission has issued guidance outlining the recent changes and details of the application process.
