House Approves $3 Trillion Pandemic Relief Plan

Tonight the House passed by a vote of 208-199 a $3 trillion bill which provides economic relief from the coronavirus pandemic. For more information on the community development provisions in the Heroes Act (H.R. 6800), see LISC Policy’s previous policy alert.

As currently drafted, the bill has little chance of being approved by the Senate and being signed into law by President Trump. The legislation was introduced by House Democrats and represents a starting point in negotiations with Republicans for another coronavirus response package. A final deal could be several weeks away. LISC Policy will continue to advocate for LISC’s policy priorities to be included in this next round, such as Section 4 and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program.
