Why BERNINA?

Main Content Inline Small

Nothing is more frustrating than fighting your machine.  Likewise, when your machine is a part of your crative process and not a hindrance, you absolutely love it.  That is machine love.  It's when you're not daunted by new, difficult fabric.  It's when trying new techniques is joyful.  It's knowing that anythinf you want to create is totally possible because this machine won't just handle it, it conques it.  That is machine love. And that is BERNINA.

Join the Slow Sewing Movement

Main Content Inline Small

Carolyn Friedlander of The Slow Sewing Studio describes it well:

"(It) is a throwback and celebration of both the art of hand sewing as well as who we are as quilters. We quilters like being together and building relationships, developing our skills, and working with our hands. There’s something about hand stitching that just feels real.

The projects give us an opportunity to slow down and to enjoy the process as much as the result. Not only a back-to-basics program, this is also a program to strengthen our skills and our relationships with each other.

These projects are things we can take with us and enjoy with others. We’ll bring them to our guild meetings, on trips, or wherever our busy lives take us. They require no chargers, adapters, or electricity and will allow us to press pause on the realities of everyday life and enjoy what we are making.

Let’s try to savor each stitch. Why else would we do it?"

So....two new classes at Stash

An Introduction to English Paper Piecing.  This class explores tips, tricks, and techniques for English Paper Piecing.  Join Brie in making adorable pentagon spheres.  Depending on your fabric and how they are stuffed they could become a toy, a Christmas ornament or a sachet.  The class will be using Diane Gilleland's book all points patchwork.  Learn more about it here.
