Screen Queensland to invest in Queensland game developers in 2018

Talented Queensland game developers can apply for support from the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Game Development and Marketing Investment, announced Screen Queensland Chair Catherine O’Sullivan.

“Applications are now open for game developers looking to create and market high quality games for an international player base,” Ms O’Sullivan said.

“This is a groundbreaking initiative with Screen Queensland offering a significant level of funding to specifically meet the needs of the game industry.

“Funding is competitive and will be capped at $100,000 for experienced practitioners, and at $50,000 for applicants who have not previously released a game,” she said.

“Queensland is home to a healthy gaming industry and this funding will invest in locally developed games with the potential for critical acclaim and commercial success.”

“Screen Queensland supports game developers as the foundation of a successful, innovative and sustainable industry,” Ms O’Sullivan said.

Screen Queensland funding is to be matched by the applicant in the form of cash, in-kind or other funding sources.

From 2018-19, Game Development and Marketing Investment will be available in two rounds per financial year.
