Scampers have a wonderful reputation within our industry for innovation which we always want to protect as it is just one of the things that make us so different to internet traders, pet supermarkets and other pet stores.
Eco friendly...
A key focus area for us is to find products which help the environment. Before single use plastic bags were being charged for in supermarkets we decided to stop offering them and instead went “back to the future” by recycling all our cardboard boxes for customers instead. We then stopped selling any plastic bottle drinks via our fridge in store and set up a FREE filtered water bottle filling station. Recycled, upcycled, natural and plastic FREE products are always on our radar when looking for new pet care products.
Plastic free poo bags...
The idea for Adios originally came about in 2017 after owner Ben Dodd became aware of the devastating effects that plastic was having on the environment.
Ben wanted to do something to help, but wasn’t sure what. He made changes in his life right away to reduce his single use plastic consumption. But Ben wanted to do more, a lot more and since he loves animals, he thought that producing something plastic free for pets would be great!
After months of research, Ben learnt that almost all dog poo bags on the market are not as eco-friendly as they claim! Companies were, and still are greenwashing customers using clever marketing techniques.
We can all help in reducing the amount of single use plastic we use. Adios poo bags are 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable and will naturally breakdown in 3-6 months.
What’s going on in store…?
Every quarter we have a massive delivery in from Scampers best seller Gentle Dog Food which fills up our warehouse. We sell literally thousands of bags of Gentle each year but this time I need to make a little more room so as a total one off we will be offering £5.00 off every bag of 15kg Gentle until the 15th March!
