We have had a tremendous response and our team are now busy preparing for our scholarship judging panels. Scholarship applicants will be advised of the results in the coming months. While applications for the main round are now closed, there are still a number of student scholarship opportunities still open. With the support of First State Super and Teachers Health, we are also offering Teachers Scholarships and later this month applications for our Harvard Leadership Scholarship will open. As passionate supporters of Public Education, we recognise the vital role played by our public schools in transforming the lives of students and our communities. The Public Education Foundation Team Teachers ScholarshipsOur new Teachers Scholarships have been created to highlight the important role played by early career teachers in transforming the lives of students. The scholarships provide professional development opportunities to help these teachers excel. The First State Super Teachers Scholarship is designed specifically to support a public school teacher who teaches Early State One or Stage One. First State Super knows that teachers give young children the foundation blocks for future learning – they are responsible for helping our children feel future ready. The Public Education Foundation’s Teachers Health Early Career Scholarship supports public school teachers in the first three years of their career. As a not-for-profit organisation, Teachers Health gives back to the education community through sponsorships, scholarships and programs to care for the health and wellbeing of those in the education community. Unions NSW ScholarshipFor budding activists, this scholarship seeks to support students studying aspects of unionism such as Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies and History. Students will need to have enthusiasm for as well as an ambition in a field they otherwise might be prevented from entering into due to disadvantage. The scholarships provide financial assistance to students in Year 12 who intend to continue studying either at TAFE or University. Food Tech ScholarshipFor budding cooks, the NSW Cookery Teachers Association Scholarship assists public school students who have obtained a high degree of proficiency in the subject of Food Technology. The scholarship is offered to students completing Year 12 in 2017 who intend to continue to university to study a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major in Food Technology. In 2018, three scholarships are available. Each scholarship has a value of $6,000 per year for 3 years. We are also most grateful to Denise who is regularly in our office to assist with our never-ending administrative workload. Contact us for other volunteering opportunities. |
