Montenegro - Overcoming Bitterness With the Sweetness of Jesus
With beautiful coastlines, clear lakes, and abundant beauty in such a compact area, increasing numbers of people are choosing Montenegro as their tourist destination. There is great resolve to unify the population under a national identity despite the ethnic differences of the past.
There continue to be obstacles to spiritual unity as well, especially between different Orthodox ethnic groups and between Orthodox and protestant churches. Additionally, Bosniak Muslims residing in the nation harbor bitterness towards Christians for the way they historically treated the Muslim population. Despite these difficult hurdles, evangelical numbers have grown. Between 2000 and 2005 Christ followers have grown 5-fold. Praise God for these encouraging trends and continue to pray for unity and healing among all believers in the country.
