Upcoming Deadlines
|
31 March 2020: the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation is awarding grants to individuals and institutions in the UK and Japan in all areas of science and engineering, mathematics, business studies, education and more. Schools, universities and professional groups can apply.
29 February 2020: Cardiff University is seeking graduates with specialities in spatial planning, human geography or similar, to research and develop digital tools to help evaluate development trends in the Cardiff area. Funding is available for this KESS2 project.

In the light of COVID-19, we understand that this is a difficult time for the education sector and for educators and research professionals across the globe. We have always believed that education connects us and at this time of uncertainty this is more important than ever. The women of IAESTE
|
To celebrate International Women's Day, which took place earlier this month, we spoke with several women who have recently taken part in the IAESTE programme. The programme, which sees STEM students undertake technical placements around the world, has changed the career paths for a lot of female scientists and researchers. We hear from a handful of them in this article.

This joint initiative between the governments of the UK and France is offering higher education institutions funding to support mobility for early career science researchers.

Newton Prize 2020
|
The Newton Prize is an annual £1 million fund awarded for the best research or innovation that promotes the economic development and social welfare of Newton Fund partner countries.
The Newton Prize 2020 call for applications is now open. This year the prize will be awarded for outstanding research and innovation partnerships between the UK and Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, South Africa, and Turkey respectively.
