Happy New Year! The staff of the CCPS Undergraduate Advising Center wishes you good health and good things for the year ahead! We are excited for Winter 2013 to begin today. The buzz of student activity again fills the buildings and brightens the gray days of a dreary Michigan winter. We are ready to offer our support to them (and to you) so that they have a very successful semester! We have some great programming and events planned which we will share with you at the first of each month. Please continue to read our updates and share the information with the students you are in contact with as appropriate. As you greet students this new semester, please encourage them to seek advising in January and February ahead of the March registration rush. Students will have a better advising experience and it will allow for us to see more students prior to registration. Thank you for the work you do! Heres to a fantastic Winter 2013!

student working with professor

Grand Valley State University has joined the Education Advisory Board’s “Student Success Collaborative” along with eleven other US institutions of higher education. This national initiative is in the beta phase of developing predictive analytics based on a student’s performance in completed courses, especially gateway courses, to enhance student advising toward successful and timely degree completion.

If you are a faculty or staff member who regularly advises, counsels, or mentors students as they make their way from selection of academic major to timely graduation, you are strongly encouraged to attend! MORE INFORMATION
