The focus of the debate will be on the introduction of a degree-level qualification for all managers of nurseries, crèches, play-groups and out of school care. UHISA at NUS Conference
Three representatives from the UHI Student Association, UHISA, recently attended the NUS Scotland Awards, having been nominated for a couple of awards themselves. Their attendance was recognised as an important opportunity to learn from other Scottish Student Associations and to be represented at national level.
UHISA hope to inspire a sense of pride in UHI students, as well as raising the student awareness of the fact that they are united under something new and exciting. And perhaps they can win an award or two at next year’s NUS Conference!
Student profile
Name: Emily Wilson
Location of study: Inverness College UHI
About me: I am 20 years old and live in Invergordon
My UHI: I am currently in my second year of a BA (Hons) Business and Management degree. I enjoy the wide range of subjects I get to study, but I have a specific interest in Marketing and Enterprise.
My time: When I'm not studying for my degree I also spend my time working as an SIE student intern with CREATE (which is based in the Midmills Campus at Inverness). I enjoy helping students who have an entrepreneurial streak and who are interested in starting their own business. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the gym and shopping!
My dream: Right now, I'm focused on finishing my degree and by doing this I hope it will prepare me for a successful future in business.
