What’s your role in the 25th Anniversary Community Celebration on the Quad?

Quad with 25 logo

3 – 8 p.m. Sept. 6

Plans are shaping up for the 25th Anniversary Community Celebration on the Quad. The theme for the event is “access” and the idea is to show children and families in our community that not only is a college education possible, but WSU Vancouver is the place to earn your degree.

The first two hours of the event will be an open house showcasing our programs and services. Ambassadors will lead campus tours. Tables in the quad will feature admissions, financial aid, programs and degrees, access services, diversity, student media groups, student clubs and more. Labs in engineering, and arts and sciences will be open.

For fun there will be activities for kids, food, the 25th Anniversary Timeline, a 25th Anniversary exhibit in the Library and the WSU Vancouver Community Art Show in the Dengerink Administration Building. The Bookie will be open and offering a Cougar Gold cheese tasting.

At about 5 p.m. the event will transition to a concert in the amphitheater. Negotiations are under way with a top 10 Portland band. Some of this region’s favorite food trucks will be on hand. Watch FYI for details.

If you don’t already have a role to play in our community celebration, contact event chair Kim Estes, 6-9093 to volunteer.

Please plan bring your family, friends and neighbors to see the amazing things that are happening at WSU Vancouver and celebrate our 25th anniversary with an awesome afternoon and evening on campus.

Loan a historical relic to the 25th Anniversary exhibit

WSU bucket

Do you have some cool piece of memorabilia from WSU Vancouver’s last 25 years? Consider loaning it to the Library for display. If you would like to make a loan, contact Dena Keller, exhibit committee chair, by email or 6-9685 to make arrangements.

All items on loan will be locked while in the Library’s possession and inspected before they are returned. Lenders will need to fill out a lender agreement and carry their own insurance on the item (if applicable). There is no guarantee that every item on loan will be part of the exhibit. Donations to the Library archives are always welcome.
