Urgent! HFI Hurricane Harvey Response – August 26, 2017

Dear Friends,

Hurricane Harvey slammed the Texas coastline late last evening as a Category 4 storm – reportedly the largest hurricane to hit the United States in over a decade.  Damage assessments have just begun, and likely the worst is yet to come.  Hurricane Harvey’s path ahead makes an inland loop, heading overland towards Houston at a very slow pace.

“The projected rainfall is going to be so heavy, in fact, that the National Weather Service had to add an extra color to its scale to mark the areas expected to get 20+ inches of rain"

-The Washington Post

Hope Force International is in the process of mounting relief efforts on behalf of survivors, as thousands of homes are likely to be ravaged in the flood aftermath that is sure to follow.  In an effort to provide desperately needed practical and emotional/spiritual help, Hope Force staff have begun deployment preparations while our HFI Reservists from across the country are on “standby alert” – ready to join teams beginning next week when the flood waters begin to recede.

This is a heartbreaking event that will require extensive relief and recovery efforts for some time to come. Please pray for the hurricane and flood survivors; for many, this is a “repeat” occurrence…bringing yet another level of trauma.

As you watch the news and see this unfolding disaster, most likely your hearts are moved and you want to do something to help.  In addition to your prayers, making a financial contribution to relief efforts is a very tangible expression of your concern and compassion.

We need your help!  Please consider making a donation to Hope Force International today toward our Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.  This partnership will empower us to join together to provide much needed help and to inspire hope.  Your contribution serves as a reminder that the people in the path of Hurricane Harvey do not stand alone…and that God and others care deeply about their plight.

Thank you for partnering with us in this historic response.
