Kindergarten eNews

We have been observing the complete metamorphosis of butterflies in our classroom. The students have had a blast watching our caterpillars grow into butterflies. 
 

Upcoming Week

  • Literacy: Students will complete reading groups. Students will learn new sight words. Students will write nonfiction. Students will sequence events in nonfiction stories and events
  • Math: students will learn to add with larger addends. Students will use manipulatives to add.
  • Bible: Students will learn about Paul’s Missionary Journey
  • Science/SS: Students will learn about butterflies and their complete metamorphosis
  • Unit of Study: butterflies
  • New Sight Words Be, red
  • Bible Verse: “He said to them. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation”.

Important Dates

  • April 28th: April show and tell
  • May 2nd: Kindergarten Field Trip
  • May 11th: Field Day and Slip and Slide Day
  • May 12th: Field Trip to Springdale Campus to see the 5th Grade Musical
  • May 19th: No School
  • May 24th: Last Day of School; Awards Program at 8:15. students dismissed after program

Reminders

  • Show and Tell is April 28th. Students will receive a plastic egg and instructions to complete the show and tell project.
  • On May 02, our class will be visiting the NWA Chef’s Academy in Rogers from 10:00-11:30. If you would like to join us, please let me know.
  • Field Day is Thursday, May 11. We will start off the events with a school wide cookout! Coach Beers will be grilling up some hotdogs for all the students! Our class is responsible for providing chips and condiments for 60 students. If you would like to help provide individually wrapped chips, ketchup, or mustard, please let me know. If you would be willing to volunteer to help set up or tear down our cookout, please let me know.
  • After the cookout, students will participate in our field day events and will end the day with a huge slip and slide.
  • On May 12, we will be taking a mini field trip to the Springdale Campus to see the 5th grade musical.
