Welcome to the May Alumni newsletter

Leeds Trinity University was delighted to announce Yorkshire-born playwright and actor Deborah McAndrew, as the new Chancellor, on Tuesday 10 April 2018.

Deborah began her acting career in the 1990s on the cobbles of Coronation Street, where she played Weatherfield regular Angie Freeman, and she co-founded Claybody Theatre Company in Stoke-on-Trent in 2013, where she is currently Creative Director. Other exciting recent news includes Leeds Trinity being ranked 14th nationally for Student Satisfaction and being shortlisted in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

IFP Enterprise Fund – Funding available

The Inspiring Futures Programme (IFP) is now open for applications from UG or PG alumni from 2016, 2017 and 2018, who have been running a business, social enterprise or freelancing for 12 months or more.

Five awards of £500 are available to be used for developing your business. Further support including mentoring, PR support and access to office or meeting space in the Enterprise centre is also offered. The closing date is Friday 8 June 2018. Back to the 90's - Reunion football match

On Saturday 12 May Angus Martin (Sport, Health and Leisure and Media, 1998) organised a football reunion match 20 years after graduating. Alumni, predominantly from the 1990s, took part and also donated £185 to our Inspiring Futures Programme.

Trained at Leeds Trinity, now reporting worldwide with ITV Good Morning Britain

Since graduating from Bi-Media Journalism at Leeds Trinity University in 2008 Katy Rickitt (nee Fawcett) has forged an extremely successful career. She is currently News correspondent for Good Morning Britain. She is married to Hollyoaks actor Adam Rickitt, and their wedding, in December 2014, was covered by OK! Magazine.
