2nd Grade eNews

We had such a great time celebrating the 100th day of school!

Next Week

  • Bible - We will study about Job and patience.
  • Memory Verse - Ephesians 4:1 and 2, "Walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love.”
  • Reading - We will be reading a biography, My Name is Gabriella and practicing our skill of characters. We will also be looking at some poetry.
  • Science - We will continue to investigate force, motion, and gravity with rockets.
  • Phonics - Long e spelled y: happy   pretty   baby   very   puppy   funny   carry   lucky   only   sunny   penny   city   where help
  • Grammar - Forms of the verb be: am, is, are, was, were
  • Math - We will finish up our chapter over money by adding and subtracting money and solving money word problems. We will test on Thursday and start our introduction to multiplication (repeated addition).

Discover Shiloh Dinner Event

Start telling your family and friends about our Discover Shiloh Dinner Event coming Tuesday evening, February 19th from 6:00 pm - 7: 30 pm! This is a great opportunity to learn about Shiloh, hear from our leadership, and visit with current students, families, and teachers. Important Dates

  • January 31 - Book orders and box tops due! We will have a special chapel to introduce our service project for the month of
  • The month of February - We will start Pennies for Patients. Our service project this month is to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
  • February 7 - 8:00 am - 9:00 am Shiloh Connect.  We will travel to the Springdale campus to present our little dribblers at 9:15 in the gym.
  • February 14 - Valentine’s Day Party 2:30 - 3:00 in our classroom, more details to come.
  • February 18 - President’s Day, no school (unless we need it for a snow day)
  • February 19 - Discover Shiloh Dinner Event 
  • February 22 - Our class will travel to the Springdale campus to see the 3rd grade Wax Museum, have lunch, and have a tour of the school. Students and parents may buy lunch for $4 or bring their own lunch.  I will let you know what the menu is when I find out.
  • March 1 - Morning with Mom and Art Fair 7:30-8:00 a.m.
  • March 6- Spring Picture Day- Students may DRESS UP, modestly or in regular dress code
  • March 14 - Student Led Conferences after school
  • March 18-22 - Spring Break
