Free art show, wine tasting tonight in the Myriad GardensThe Myriad Botanical Gardens invites you to shake off the winter doldrums with a free art show and wine tasting tonight from 5-7 p.m. in the lobby of the Crystal Bridge. The show will feature the work of Joy Richardson, a contemporary, abstract artist with a smashing use of color. This event is free and open to the public. Chasing Ice screens at the OKCMOA this weekend In the spring of 2005, acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment for National Geographic: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. Even with a scientific upbringing, Balog had been a skeptic about climate change. But that first trip north opened his eyes to the biggest story in human history and sparked a challenge within him that would put his career and his very well-being at risk. His story is told in Chasing Ice, a documentary that will screen at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art Jan. 24, 27, and 31. OKCMOA presents Photorealism Revisited Jan. 24
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art's new exhibit, Photorealism Revisited, opened today. Photorealism Revisited is an exhibition of 64 paintings rendered in a highly realistic, photographic The term “Photorealism” was coined by gallery owner Louis K. Meisel in 1968 to describe a group of artists who began favoring a new type of photographic realism in the 1960s. In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in figurative imagery, narrative content, and illusionistic space. The highly technical process associated with Photorealism and its use of imagery from popular culture creates accessible paintings that continue to capture the imagination of their audiences. The exhibition will be on view in the first floor gallery from Jan. 24 through April 21. For more information, visit okcmoa.com.

The OKC Downtown College will host a Tuesday Topics event on internships from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, on the fourth floor of the Norick Downtown Library. The Manager of Graduate Outreach & Internships for the Greater OKC Chamber, Joyce Burch, will discuss the benefits of using interns in organizations.
