HFI Arkansas Tornado Response
After arriving into North Little Rock the day after the massive tornado caused horrific devastation, Central U.S. Coordinator, Brian Wagner, made immediate contact with a local, prominent church in the impacted area. New Hope Baptist Church welcomed Hope Force with open arms — providing housing, contacts, and direct access to local officials in the North Little Rock community. This partnership enhanced our ability to mobilize assets and quickly make assessments.
Within 24 hours of making the decision to deploy, tarps were going up on roofs and neighborhood assessments were underway. As Brian Wagner shares, “Each neighborhood along the path of the tornado has been severely impacted. Being a heavily forested area of the city, most impacted homes in North Little Rock experienced extensive damage from trees. We have been privileged to provide the ministry of presence alongside these survivors.”
With storm predictions of severe weather returning to the area on Tuesday, we are racing to get homes buttoned up and safe from the predicted rains.
We ask that you would please pray for the residents of Arkansas, knowing that tornados like this impact whole communities — even if an individual's home is not hit. Please pray for our team as they assess, engage with the community and serve people who have been directly impacted by this deadly tornado outbreak.
Would you also consider a financial donation in support of our response efforts? Your gift will help enable our teams to effectively serve those impacted by this historic event.
