Join us for a Funding Celebration & Groundbreaking Ceremony

You’re invited to join Metropolitan Council Chair Nora Slawik and Council Members to celebrate the Federal Transit Administration’s full funding of the METRO Orange Line project.

Governor Tim Walz and FTA Regional Administrator Kelley Brookins will lead the event, celebrating years of hard work by project partners. There will also be a ceremonial groundbreaking to kickoff construction of the Orange Line’s Knox Avenue Transitway

In June, the Metropolitan Council executed a grant with the FTA, the final step of securing all federal funding for the METRO Orange Line project. The $74.1 million grant means the project has all funding in-hand to complete construction on the $150.7 million project. Read more about the federal grant here
